DO NOT try to open it yourself or put it in the freezer! Seriously, just don't. That's a surefire way to make recovery impossible for even the pros.

I completely disagree with leaving hardware acceleration on if you have an integrated GPU or older discrete card. Sometimes it causes more problems than it solves, leading to visual glitches and even crashes. Test it both ways!
