For comment #3, generally keep hardware acceleration ON. It offloads graphics processing to your GPU, which is usually more efficient than your CPU, leading to smoother scrolling and video playback.

Replying to @comment2: Liquid metal *is* better, but yeah, the risk of shorting components if it spills is huge. Definitely not for beginners. Stick to non-conductive paste for peace of mind.
