Speaking from experience, 'moderate traffic initially' can quickly become 'oh crap we're down' if you don't plan for scaling from day one. Whichever you choose, design for elasticity.

For AI/ML, GCP definitely takes the cake, especially with TensorFlow integration. Their Vertex AI platform is impressive.

I'd strongly recommend checking out serverless options like AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions. Less ops overhead, truly pay-as-you-go.

For small teams, managed Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE) can actually *increase* complexity if you don't know K8s. Maybe start with App Engine or Elastic Beanstalk?

Forget about ease of management when rapid scaling is the goal. Automation is key, no matter the provider.

Azure's free tier is pretty generous. Plus, if you're already using Microsoft tools, the integration can be seamless.

Have you considered DigitalOcean or Vultr for the initial phase? Much simpler to manage and very cost-effective until you really need the enterprise features.

I disagree with the idea that DigitalOcean is for 'initial phase' only. We've scaled to millions of users on DO, it's just about knowing how to leverage their platform effectively.

The learning curve for AWS is overstated. There are so many tutorials and a huge community, you'll find answers for everything.
