Frequent WiFi Drops on Laptop (Windows 11)

My Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (Windows 11) keeps dropping its WiFi connection every 10-15 minutes, then reconnects after about 30 seconds. This is incredibly disruptive during online meetings and gaming. I've tried updating the network adapter drivers, power cycling my router, and even resetting network settings in Windows. Any suggestions before I consider a fresh OS install or buying a new adapter? I'm running out of ideas and patience.

My Legion 7 had similar issues, turned out to be the MediaTek WiFi card. I swapped it for an Intel AX210 and haven't had a single drop since. It's a fairly easy upgrade if you're comfortable opening your laptop.

I disagree with the idea that it's *always* a hardware issue. Before swapping cards, did you try disabling any power-saving features for the adapter in Device Manager? Windows often puts them to sleep to save battery, which can cause drops.

Thanks for the tip on the Intel AX210 card, comment 3! I'll look into that as a last resort. I've already turned off power saving, but it made no difference for me.

Have you checked the event viewer for any specific errors related to WLAN AutoConfig or your network adapter around the time of the drops? Sometimes that gives a clue.

Replying to comment 2: Yeah, I did peek in there. Saw a bunch of 'WLAN AutoConfig reported a connection event' messages, mostly about connect/disconnect. Nothing overtly 'error' related, though.

Ugh, that's incredibly frustrating! Happens to me sometimes with my old work laptop, though not as frequently. Definitely sounds like a hardware or specific driver conflict.
